Fo&o
Omar Rudberg transitioned into the final phase of his boy band career under the name FO&O in 2017. This period marked the group’s evolution into a trio and served as the immediate precursor to his global solo stardom.
The Formation of FO&O
In late 2016, original member Oscar "OG" Molander left the group. The remaining members—Omar Rudberg, Felix Sandman, and Oscar Enestad—rebranded as FO&O, a name reflecting their updated lineup.
Major Career Milestones (2017)
- Melodifestivalen: The trio competed in the 2017 Swedish national selection for Eurovision with the song "Gotta Thing About You". Despite Rudberg battling a severe cold during the rehearsals, the group reached the final.
- Self-Titled Album: They released their final studio album, FO&O, in 2017. It featured tracks like "So So Good" and "Hurt Like We Did".
- Live Success: The band maintained their status as Scandinavia's biggest boy band, amassing over 80 million streams on Spotify and winning multiple awards, including 3 MTV EMAs for Best Swedish Act.
The Move to Solo Careers
In September 2017, FO&O announced an indefinite hiatus. This decision was made to allow each member to explore their individual artistic identities:
- Omar Rudberg: Launched his solo career in February 2018 with the gold-certified single "Que Pasa".
- Creative Freedom: Rudberg later noted that moving solo allowed him to better incorporate his Venezuelan heritage by blending Spanish, Swedish, and English into his music—a freedom he lacked during the band era.
