2021 was the definitive breakout year for Omar Rudberg, transitioning him from a well-known Swedish pop singer to an international television star.

Acting Debut & Young Royals

• Series Premiere: On July 1, 2021, the first season of Young Royals premiered on Netflix. Omar played the lead role of Simon Eriksson, marking his first-ever professional acting job.
• International Fame: The show’s immediate global success saw Omar’s Instagram following jump to over two million almost overnight.
• Renewal: Following the intense "hype," Netflix officially renewed the series for a second season in September 2021. 

Music Releases

While focusing on acting, Omar continued to release new music under the TEN Music Group label:

• Singles:
  • "Alla ba ouff": A popular high-energy track released in early 2021.
  • "Yo Dije OUFF": A Spanish-language version of the same track, released on July 22, 2021.
  • "It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane": A cover of The Ark’s classic, released on July 1, 2021, to coincide with the Young Royals premiere.
• EP - Omar Covers: Released on July 9, 2021, this small collection included covers of "It Takes a Fool to Remain Sane," "Symphony," and "Remember". 

Notable Performances & Events

• Musikhjälpen 2021: In December, Omar performed a live cover of "Symphony" (originally by Clean Bandit & Zara Larsson) during the charity broadcast.
• Zara Larsson Tour: In November 2021, Omar joined Zara Larsson as a supporting act for several arena dates on her Poster Girl Tour, including shows in Stockholm (Ericsson Globe), Oslo, and Helsinki.
• Songwriting Camps: He participated in the first-ever "Her Songs For Him" songwriting initiative in November 2021, collaborating with female producers to create new material.
