Melodifestivalen rehearsals

Omar Rudberg's rehearsals for Melodifestivalen 2022 took place at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm during the first week of February, leading up to the live broadcast on February 5. 

Rehearsal & Performance Details

• The Act: Omar rehearsed with two backing dancers, Lamin Camara Holmén and Kenny Lantz. The performance was described by reviewers as high-energy with "crazy good dance moves" and a "reggaeton-light beat".
• Stage Presence: During rehearsals, journalists noted his high level of confidence on stage, describing him as having "star quality" and a performance that made people "want to dance to it the second it starts".
• Outfit: In interviews given during the rehearsal period, Omar described his stage outfit as having "very many stones" (väldigt mycket stenar), emphasizing a glamorous, high-fashion look for his comeback to the Mello stage.
• SVT Preview: On February 3, 2022, SVT Play released a 30-second "sneak peek" video of his rehearsal to build anticipation for the Saturday show. 

Context & Atmosphere

• General Rehearsal: The final general rehearsal (dress rehearsal) took place on Friday, February 4, 2022.
• Interviews: Between rehearsal sessions, Omar gave several interviews, including one with the Melodifestivalklubben where he expressed his gratitude for the fan support and his excitement for the upcoming broadcast. 

Despite the strong rehearsal reception, Omar finished 5th in the live competition, which he later noted was "not the end of the world" as it still allowed him to promote his new music.
