In Melodifestivalen 2022, Omar Rudberg competed with the song "Moving Like That" in the first heat (Deltävling 1). Despite being a fan favourite, he was eliminated from the competition, finishing in 5th place.

• Heat & Start Number: He performed as start number 4 on February 5, 2022, at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
• Songwriters: The track was co-written by Omar Rudberg, Gustav Blomberg, Amanda Kongshaug, and Kristin Marie.
• Stage Act: The performance was high-energy, featuring intricate choreography and a reggaeton-pop sound. 

Voting Results & Controversy

Omar received a total of 21,177 votes (roughly 10% of the total in his heat). 

• App Failure: The first heat was marred by a major technical failure with the Melodifestivalen App, which crashed during the broadcast. As a result, only telephone voting was used to determine the results for the first round, which some analysts believe disadvantaged younger-skewing artists like Omar.
• Round Breakdown: He received 15,034 votes in the first round and 6,143 in the second round. 

Post-Competition Reception

Following his elimination, Omar stated in interviews that it was "not the end of the world," emphasizing that the platform allowed him to promote his new music to a wide audience. The song was later featured on his debut solo album, OMR, released in May 2022.
