In Melodifestivalen 2019, Omar Rudberg competed as a solo artist for the first time with the song "Om om och om igen".

• Placement: He finished in 6th place out of 7 contestants and did not advance to the final.
• Voting: He received 722,215 votes, which equated to 19 points under the competition's weighted voting system.

• Genre: A rhythmic pop track with a "Latin/Caribbean vibe," featuring lyrics in both Swedish and Spanish.
• Writers: The song was co-written by Omar Rudberg, Robin Stjernberg (2013 winner), Johan Lindbrandt, and Jens Hult.
• Commercial Success: Despite being eliminated early, the song became Omar's first solo Top 20 hit on the Swedish singles chart (Sverigetopplistan). 

 

Performance Elements

The stage show featured a "smoky" dance number with vibrant colors like purple, red, and petroleum green. Omar was accompanied by four dancers—Lovisa Bengtsson, Ann Mirro, Felicia Maurice, and Keisha von Arnold. Following the results, Omar expressed frustration with the new voting system introduced that year, describing the outcome as unfair.
